The TT-Rockz bands of Sohe District in the Northern Province have been popping the air waves in POM city for the past couple of months now.
The duo from the rural outskirts of Central Kaiva collaborated in the aim of reviving the fading sounds of Oro.
The collaboration was inspired by Moqai, a popular local artist with his hit single “Sohe Butterfly”. Enzo Dabix, a former radio announcer cum musician interpreted Moqai’s hit song(Sohe Butterfly) and being inspired by that, he went on to mobilize youths from his area and formed a band called TT-Rockz. He teamed up a well-known local artist known as Ambros "Daugos Band" and after numerous gigs within their local communities they migrated to Port Moresby and have working on an album while being invited as supporting band to various popular artists like B-Red, Lista Serum,  Leonard Kania, Uga Mates and Wame Blood, EMPIS of Oro etc..

Their local Member and Minister, Hon. Delilah Gore was very supportive and encouraged them to continue to involve youths to take up such productive activities.

" I have big plans for the youths in my electorate but if the youths can initiate such productive projects like these than it will make it easier for us the government to throw our support.

Youths are the leaders of tomorrow and we the government are aware of that and as my ministry caters for the youth through the National Youth Development Authority (NYDA), formally National Youth Commission.
But due to budget constraints we may be slow in implementing our policies and bills but it is very rewarding o see youths taking the initiative in helping themselves," said Gore.

SOHE - SAIHO HEALTH CENTRE GETS RELIEF

SOHE - SAIHO HEALTH CENTER GETS RELIEF

Sohe District has once again seen the current government’s hand in its developmental progress through the DSIP funds administered through Sohe district administration.
Minister Gore addressing the crown during the occasion

Even though the political climate was facing its own drought, Saiho District Health Center was given a special visit by the Prime Minister, Hon. Peter O’niell and his senior ministers took the time to officiate the ground breaking ceremony of the health center.

The delegates include, Hon. Sir Puka Temu, Minister for Public Service, Hon. Mao Zeming, Minister for Fisheries, Hon. Douglas Tomuriesa, Minister for Forestry the PNC candidate for Ijivitari Open Seat, Mr David Arore.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Oro province was long overdue because of the sensitive issues concerning the country which he was committed to. But manage to spare time on Saturday 29th October to fly over to endorse his candidate for Ijivtari open seat and continued on the Sohe electorate to perform the ground-breaking ceremony of the Saiho Health Center.

Saiho Health Center is one of Sohe member and the host, Hon. Delilah Gore’s impact project through the DSIP program initiated by the O’Neil/ Dion government that in which has improved a lot of rural communities around the country.

“The current government is doing so many good things in the country. We are changing the way we educate our children, we changing the way provide health service, roads, bridges and airports and keeping the community safe and secure. In less than 3 years our country has seen a lot of changes which could have been done 40 years ago. Policies and plans have come and gone but ghastly leadership as always hindered progress and mismanagement has cost us so many wasted years and this government is here to deliver.

Popondetta needs strong leaders like Delilah Gore and David Arore who are always with the people to implement such important projects and judge this government through the polls in 2017,” said Prime Minster.

SOHE - RECONCILIATION AT MUMUNE VILLAGE

RECONCILIATION AT MUMUNE
Wednesday 09th March 2016
Higaturu LLG, Ward 15  - Mumune Village

Minister & Member for Sohe being welcome by village elders
Services delivery in rural areas in our country is very daunting task faced by leaders due to rugged terrains, weather and most often the recipient of the services lack the understanding of the purposes of development.

As such, the people of Munune village in Ward 17 of Higaturu LLG in the Sohe District have taken the initiative to welcome their local MP, Hon. Delilah Gore also the Minister for Religion, Youth & Community Development to be part of a reconciliation ceremony to mark a new partnership in which political differences before and after elections have denied the people their rights to basic services which the Member has being tirelessly administering through other wards.

“It’s not easy to put roads up in rural areas because locals demand compensation every now and then. Even though it’s the people’s right to claim compensation due to the destruction of natural resources and cash crops. But upgrading an existing road and being mocked at and given compensation claims just does not justify the situation. It only delays progress. So we need to change our attitudes. Blaming the governments all the time is a wrong mindset. The government is trying but it is you, the people who have to embrace development and change” said the Minister.

The O’Neill Dion government is focused on rural development by bestowing the powers to the District Administrations as the development authority to administer to its people and funds can be accessible without further delays.

But the onus is on the people to utilize such policies by working closely with the government to allow roads, bridges, schools and health service to be provided for the people.

“We must forget our difference and work together for the betterment of our future generations. Our children do not deserve be suffer due our indifference and politics”

Minister Gore was overwhelmed by the reception and commended the ward and village leaders for the efforts in organizing the event. She further reiterated that she won’t be making any commitments as such because politicians have the tendencies to make promises but when the political climate changes, these commitments are forgotten and causes confusions among us.
